Why does my PC freeze? Why does the computer freeze and what to do to fix it. Errors in various Windows services

11.04.2020 Data recovery

Everyone is more or less experienced computer user at least once in my life I have encountered a so-called freeze, when programs either start working very slowly or stop functioning altogether. At the same time, the computer itself continues to work, and the image from the display does not disappear anywhere. Why this happens is a very difficult question. The reasons for such a malfunction can be very different, as well as ways to correct it. In general, such reasons can be divided into two large groups: hardware and software. In some cases, the average user will be able to get rid of the freeze on his own, while in others he will have to turn to qualified specialists for help. Let's try to figure out how best to act in this situation.

The virus completely loads the processor

If your office or home computer suddenly begins to freeze or work slowly, then first you need to ask yourself one very simple question: “Is everything okay with its hardware?” Let's say the computer is new, just from the store, and you have no doubts about its serviceability. In this situation, the list of reasons why it may freeze is significantly reduced. It would also be a good idea to make sure that the Windows operating system is legal - it is no secret that pirated versions purchased and installed independently can also present a number of unpleasant surprises. It’s not for nothing that experts often call them “crooked”.

Let us remind you that during normal work with office applications, the computer processor is loaded at most by 1-5%. If the load level constantly remains at 98-99%, this clearly indicates the effect of the virus. Checking the current processor load is very simple - just press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Manager Windows tasks. In the tab Performance you can see a window showing the meaning of this important parameter at the moment (Fig. 1).

Rice. 1

Control of running applications

There is another important window in the Windows Task Manager - Memory (Swap file- For others Windows versions) (see Fig. 1), showing how many megabytes of RAM you are currently using. In principle, if there is not enough RAM on your PC, and you are trying to use many programs at the same time, then this can also cause freezes, but this option is not so common. As a rule, each user already knows what and how much it costs to run on a PC with its parameters, so he is unlikely to cause an “emergency” situation himself. Another thing is if any program starts to launch and work without your knowledge, “eating up” precious RAM, this may well cause problems. In the same Windows Task Manager there are tabs Processes And Applications, where you can try to catch such a “newbie”. You should always keep an eye on the processes and programs that are running on your system, and if your PC begins to run very slowly, the first thing to do is check in the Task Manager to see if there are any new programs that you did not launch (Figure 2).

However, in the case of a virus infection, this search option may not work (viruses are very well camouflaged in the system), so it is best to use special software - for example, the Dr.Web LiveCD program (based on the Dr.Web anti-virus scanner). To do this, you will first need to download a 188 MB distribution kit from the site www.freedrweb.com/livecd/?lng=ru, create a special boot disk with it, and then scan it with an antivirus HDD your PC. It is very important to use just such an antivirus with offline loading, since normal startup and Windows work If there is a virus in the system, they are usually no longer possible. Running an antivirus from removable media is the only option to neutralize code that interferes with the normal operation of the system. After finding and removing the virus in this way, the freezes usually stop.

Rice. 2

Insidious overheating

The second common cause of freezes is hardware - for example, a damaged power supply or computer cooling system. If the antivirus package did not detect any hidden pests, then you should pay attention to this possible reason. It is noteworthy that the malfunction of the power supply can also be hidden. The computer will turn on as usual, work for a while, but then suddenly all processes will stop. It will be very difficult for an amateur to deal with the power supply on his own - he will have to take the PC to a workshop. However, there is one indirect sign indicating the fault of this particular unit: open the cover of the system unit and carry out an external inspection of the power supply. If there are any smudges or other external defects, the problem is definitely there.

Not everything is simple with the cooling system either. As a rule, several coolers (fans) are installed inside the system unit, which provide cooling for various components - processor, power supply, video card, etc. In powerful machines, their total number can reach 12! Over time, the moving parts of these fans can deteriorate and cooling becomes ineffective. Dust that collects inside the PC case also contributes to this. As a result, a system unit clogged with dust and poorly functioning fans causes overheating of various parts (in particular, the same processor), which leads to constant freezes. The first steps towards solving this problem are an external inspection of the system unit with the cover removed and thorough cleaning of it from the dust and dirt accumulated inside.

Pay attention to the sounds and vibrations that coolers make during operation. If they differ noticeably from normal mode, then this is a clear sign that the fans are faulty and need to be replaced. There are many universal paid and free programs like Everest, Motherboard Monitor and others that allow you to check the current temperature of the processor and other parts. However, it is hardly worth recommending them, since the reason in any case will lie in a malfunction of the cooling system. It is this that must be dealt with first, everything else is indirect signs.

By the way, an insufficient power supply can also cause the system to overheat. Most often, this power discrepancy occurs when various new components (video card, etc.) are installed on the PC, but the power supply remains the same, not designed for such a power-intensive upgrade. In any case, overheating should be dealt with, since it not only causes various freezes, but also significantly reduces the service life of components and components.

Checking the hard drive

There are two other fairly common hardware problems that could cause incorrect operation computer and applications. The first of them concerns RAM strips (module defects, overheating, etc.). The memory of little-known manufacturers, and what’s more, with a considerable service life, may well present various unpleasant surprises, including blue screen death, decreased PC speed and periodic freezes. There are many different programs for testing RAM - MemTest (hcidesign.com/memtest), DocMemory (www.docmemory.com), Memtest86 (www.memtest86.com), etc. Some of them allow you to check the quality of RAM modules without any Windows startup, which is more preferable. In any case, it is desirable for everyone to have such utilities in their collection.

The second common hardware problem that can cause your PC to freeze is hard drive problems disk. Typically, its lifespan is about 5 years and depends on operating conditions and the reliability of the manufacturer. As it is used, the hard drive may experience many different problems - mechanical, electronic, logical or hardware-software. As a result, the disk access speed drops, the number of bad sectors increases, etc. In the early stages this is hardly noticeable, but as negative changes increase, the hard drive demonstrates increasingly poor performance, which is expressed, among other things, in frequent system freezes, decreased file opening speed, etc.

Control state of hard disk can be used using various utilities, such as the free HDD program Health (www.panterasoft.com), which monitors the hard drive and issues an appropriate warning if problems occur.

Saving defragmentation

Among other typical problems that cause a significant slowdown in the computer and its freezing, there are several more. Firstly, there are various file “garbage” that accumulates in the system as it is used. This also includes extra entries in Windows registry and temporary files different programs. Naturally, all this dead weight does not help fast work computer. To get rid of it, various special programs are used, among which we can recommend the free Russian-language CCleaner application (www.piriform.com/ccleaner). You can use it to clean hard drive from virtual garbage, including removing unnecessary entries from the system registry (Fig. 3).

Another reason for PC slowdown may be due to the process of data fragmentation that constantly occurs on the hard drive. Various files are constantly added to the hard drive, deleted, changed, as a result of which their parts are chaotically distributed between sectors from different areas of the disk. The hard drive heads must constantly move back and forth in search of scattered file fragments, which significantly slows down the system. This problem can be solved either using built-in Windows tools or using other special applications. To use the standard defragmenter from Microsoft, which opens using the Start menu - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter. There is an important button here - Analyze disk. It allows you to first test the hard drive for the need to perform such an operation, since this process is quite lengthy and can take several hours. You can also configure defragmentation to run on a schedule. In this case, for the appearance similar problem on your disks, you don’t have to worry - it will be solved relatively quickly and automatically (Fig. 4).

Rice. 4

Our advice. For defragmentation to be effective and go as quickly as possible, you should have at least 20-25% free space on the disk. The situation of a hard drive filled to capacity with files should be avoided.

Avoid crooked drivers

Separately, you should consider the situation when the freeze occurred due to incorrect installation of drivers or other software affecting the operation of the operating system. Theoretically, Windows provides a rollback system to the system state prior to the installation of such software. To create a restore point, you need to use the Start button to open the Control Panel, select System - System Protection (System Restore - for other versions of Windows) and use the corresponding button (Fig. 5). In theory, if you installed something incorrectly and the computer began to work poorly, you can always return to this “point” by resuscitating the last working state.

Unfortunately, in practice this is not always possible, since Windows itself often starts to work very poorly after installing “crooked” drivers. In this case, the optimal solution is to restore the system from a previously saved archive using an emergency boot disk, created, for example, by a program such as Acronis True Image Home (www.acronis.ru) (Fig. 6). Otherwise, you will have to reinstall Windows from scratch and all the programs necessary for operation, too.

Instead of a conclusion

To summarize, perhaps the easiest freezing situation a user can find themselves in is when installing a problematic program. An important nuance: Windows continues to work normally. In this case effective solution It may be as simple as removing the crooked software. All other situations require quite a significant investment of time, serious knowledge of Windows, software for diagnostics and testing, BIOS settings(a number of problems may arise because of this) and other points. If the computer components are faulty or incompatible, this issue can hardly be resolved by the user himself and will require the intervention of a qualified specialist.

Be that as it may, the list of main typical reasons The reasons for which your computer may freeze, outlined in this article, should always be clearly understood. Then, when such troubles arise, you will immediately understand in which direction to search for a solution to the problem. This will allow you to resolve it as quickly as possible, with the least financial losses.

Deadly, Windows 7 stops responding to any commands, it’s even impossible to open the task manager? Such problems appear quite rarely. It must be said that a computer is a rather complex system, and its performance depends on a huge number of factors. The article will discuss the main ones. After reading, you will learn to deal with most of the problems that lead to “freezes” on your own.

Viruses

The first answer to the question of why the computer freezes is the simplest and most common. It is quite possible that uninvited guests have settled on your computer and are well camouflaged. Typically, viruses not only threaten the security of the system, but also significantly load computer resources. Sometimes this load leads to

Everyone knows how to deal with such a scourge. It is enough to simply install any antivirus program, update its databases to the latest ones and run a complete one. It didn’t help - call and check the processes to see if there are any suspicious ones. It would also be a good idea to look into startup by entering the name of the utility “msconfig” in the “Run” window.

However, if the computer freezes tightly after turning on, it will not be possible to install new software, much less check the PC. In this case, use any antivirus distribution that can create bootable USB flash drive or CD.

Overheat

When releasing each new device model, manufacturers try to make it more sophisticated than the previous one. And this requires more power. The latter, in turn. increases heat generation. For some time, the standard cooling system copes with its job, but after a while its effectiveness decreases - as a result, the computer freezes completely. What to do if such a disaster happens?

Dust, which cannot be removed, clogs into radiators and interferes with air circulation. As dust settles on the cooler, it slows down the rotation speed of the propeller. Previously, such problems led to device failure. Today, fortunately, computers have become smarter; there will be no endless or video card. Modern devices have the ability to exchange data with motherboard, assigning her responsibilities for temperature control. As soon as the values reach a critical point, the controller first tries to unscrew the cooler screw, but if this does not help, the system slows down the device, reducing the voltage. Soon the computer freezes completely.

To prevent such troubles from happening, remember a few simple rules:

Very often, because of this problem, the computer freezes in games or other graphics applications. To check how hot your computer components are, you can download a program. Fortunately, there are a huge number of similar ones on the Internet.

RAM problems

RAM is the most important element of a computer, which has a very large impact on its performance. Normal operation of RAM depends on compatibility with the motherboard, BIOS, and other installed slats. A minor glitch, the smallest manufacturing defect - and the computer freezes tightly when turned on, not wanting to work even at low performance.

If you are going to increase or change the RAM, fully study its characteristics, go to the website of its manufacturer and the motherboard manufacturer in advance, study what speeds are supported, what tests have been carried out and whether it is recommended to use the devices together.

If your computer freezes before you change the configuration, you can check whether the problem is RAM, using Windows 7. Just click on the “Start” button and type “memory checker” in the search box. During the procedure, the program will display all errors if any were found. There is only one recommendation: if there are errors, change the memory.

HDD instability

A hard drive is a device on which absolutely all data (both user and system) is stored. Accordingly, Windows accesses it all the time, reading and writing does not stop for a minute. This means that system performance directly depends on the speed of this component. Over time, “broken” clusters and unreadable areas may appear on it, which will lead to system failures. Often, because of this problem, the computer freezes on the Internet, because while surfing the browser constantly records and deletes many small files.

Repairing a broken HDD

If the HDD is worn out, you need to check it with special software tools that will find all damaged sectors and mark them as non-working. The OS will stop using “bads” and stop freezing. To check, run command line by entering the name of the program in the “Run” window - “cmd”. In it, run the command “chkdsk [drive letter]: /f /r” for each partition.

Experienced users can determine the status of the HDD by the sound of its operation. If it starts clicking or whistling, the equipment is most likely faulty and needs to be replaced. Be careful, often, if a hard drive begins to “crumble”, it will soon fail, and it is very difficult to recover data from such a device. Also, if the computer freezes tightly after turning on, there is a high probability of wear on the hard drive.

Incorrect BIOS setting

If the computer freezes dead after turning on, very often the reason for this behavior of the system is incorrect setting BIOS. Someone may think that an ordinary user should not even try to fix something, but should contact a professional. But still, the computer freezes tightly - what to do if there is no way to call a specialist?

If you approach BIOS configuration with care, even a beginner can handle this procedure. Explore full information about your computer, and especially about the motherboard. Usually such data is easily found on the manufacturer’s official website. Find out which parameters are most important and what they are responsible for. When using the BIOS setup utility, never change many settings at once. First change a few, reboot, check the computer. Only then continue editing. A special mention should be made of the item that is in every BIOS - “Load Fail-Safe Defaults”. It brings all parameters to optimal - in the opinion of the developer.

Sometimes on the manufacturer's website motherboard you can download and install the new BIOS version. Never refuse such a procedure. They often fix it in updates. critical errors and improve stability. It is likely that after installation new version Freezes will disappear. The main thing is to read the instructions in advance.

Windows Services

The operating system runs a large number of services all the time, either enabled by default or added during operation. The system can work fine without most of them. If some service does not respond or takes up too much processor time, the computer freezes.

To see which of them are in the system and which are running, open the administration window ("Start" - "Control Panel" - "Administrative Tools") and double-click the "Services" shortcut. To get comprehensive information about a particular service, double-click on its name.

First of all, pay attention to those that start automatically. The loading method is indicated in the “Startup type” column. There is only one editing rule - if you do not understand the description, do not disable the component, but find out more about its operation from the Internet. Try to check the stability of the system after each individual manipulation.

Processes and programs

Each program starts its own process (sometimes even more than one), if it enters an endless loop or malfunctions, and the computer does not always freeze completely; Windows 7 still tries to independently cut off oxygen to non-responsive components. It is very easy to identify a frozen element - it usually takes up the lion's share of RAM and almost all the processor time.

Solving the problem using the task manager

You can view the list of running processes in the task manager window. Press the combination “CTRL+ALT+DEL” on your keyboard. If you are sure that some program does not carry a payload, but at the same time takes 90-100% of the processor time, feel free to terminate it (by pressing “DEL” on the keyboard or calling context menu). You can also go to the location where the program is stored from here. This will be useful if you do not understand exactly what you are interrupting.

Checking processes is not always the best solution, but this procedure can often help if the computer periodically freezes. Remember that some programs can load the processor one hundred percent during the most active phases of their work. However, a frozen utility will not stop using maximum resources, and one that performs its functions without failures will again go into passive mode after some time. Also, do not try to end the process called System Idleness. It is used to poll other programs and system resources, and the variable in it does not display the processor load, but just the remaining free power.

Every person has tried playing video games at least once in their life. After all, this is a great way to relax, take a break from everyday life and just have a good time. However, quite often there are situations when the game for some reason does not work very well. As a result, it may freeze, reduce the number of frames per second, and many other problems. What causes these problems? How can they be corrected? We will give answers to these questions today.

In general, the performance of games on your PC is influenced by a fairly large number of factors. This may be problems with computer components, high PC temperature, poor optimization of the game by the developer, open browser during the game, etc. Let's try to understand all this point by point.

Reason 1: System requirements do not match

No matter how you buy games, on disc or digitally, the first thing you should do before purchasing is to check system requirements. It may happen that your computer's characteristics are much weaker than those required by the game.

The developer company often releases approximate system requirements before the game is released (usually several months in advance). Of course, at the development stage they may change a little, but they will not go far from the original version. Therefore, again, before purchasing, you should check at what graphics settings you will play the new computer game and whether you will be able to run it at all. There are different options for checking the required parameters.

When purchasing a CD or DVD, checking the requirements is easy. In 90% of cases they are written on the box with back side. Some discs require inserts; system requirements may be written there as well.

For other methods of checking applications for compatibility with your computer, see our article at the following link.

If you are interested in ensuring that your computer can run all the new games at high settings without any problems, you will need to invest a considerable amount of money and build a gaming computer. Read on for a detailed guide on this topic.

Reason 2: Overheating of components

High temperatures can greatly damage the performance of your computer. It affects not only games, but also slows down all the actions you perform: opening a browser, folders, files, reducing the loading speed of the operating system, and more. You can check the temperature of individual PC components using various programs or utilities.

Such methods allow you to get a full report on many system parameters, including the overall temperature of the PC, video card or processor. If you find that the temperature is rising above 80 degrees, you need to address the overheating problem.

It is worth noting that problems with thermal paste are one of the most common cases of PC overheating. The thermal paste could be of poor quality, or, more likely, it may have expired. For people who are actively involved in PC gaming, it is recommended to change the thermal paste every few years. Replacing it will help significantly reduce the likelihood of your computer overheating.

Reason 3: Computer infection with viruses

Some viruses affect the PC's performance in games and can cause freezes. In order to fix this, you need to regularly scan your computer for malicious files. There are quite a lot of programs for removing viruses, so choosing one for yourself is not difficult.

Reason 4: CPU load

Some programs use much more CPU than others. You can identify problem areas through the Task Manager in the tab "Processes". Viruses can also affect loading central processor, increasing the load percentage almost to the maximum. If you encounter such a problem, you need to find the source of its occurrence and quickly eliminate it using available means. For detailed instructions on this topic, read our other materials using the following links.

Reason 5: Outdated drivers

Outdated PC software, in particular drivers, can cause games to freeze. You can update them either independently, searching for the ones you need on the Internet, or using special programs and utilities. I would like to focus on graphics adapter drivers. Instructions for updating them are provided in our separate materials below.

The processor driver most often does not need to be updated, but there is still some software required for correct operation games.

If you do not want to search for drivers yourself, it is recommended to use special programs. Such software will independently scan the system, find and install necessary files. Check out his list at the link below.

Reason 6: Incorrect graphics settings

Some users don't quite understand how powerful their PC build is, so they always turn the graphics settings in the game to maximum. As for the video card, it plays the main role in image processing, so reducing almost every graphic parameter will lead to increased productivity.

With the processor, things are a little different. It processes user commands, generates objects, works with the environment, and manages NPCs present in the application. In our other article, we conducted an experiment with changing graphics settings in popular games and found out which of them took the most load off the CPU.

Reason 7: Poor optimization

It's no secret that even AAA-class games often have many bugs and shortcomings at the end of the day, since large companies often launch a conveyor belt and set themselves the goal of releasing one part of the game per year. In addition, novice developers do not know how to properly optimize their product, which is why such games slow down even on the highest-end hardware. There is only one solution here - wait for further updates and hope that the developers will finally bring their brainchild to fruition. To make sure that the game has poor optimization, reviews from other buyers on the same trading platforms, for example, Steam.

In addition, users are faced with problems with decreased performance not only in games, but also in the operating system. In this case, you may need to increase your PC performance to get rid of all the annoying lags. This has been written about in detail in our other material.

Overclocking components allows you to increase overall performance by several tens of percent, but this should only be done with the appropriate knowledge, or by strictly following the instructions found. Incorrect boost settings often lead not only to deterioration in the performance of the component, but also to complete breakdown without the possibility of further repair.

Hello friends!

Yesterday a friend asked me to look at the computer and said that there was a problem - it hangs, at first it works, and then suddenly it starts to slow down. If you reboot, it works again for a while, and then the process repeats again. In general, the topic is extensive, the reasons are different. But each of us wants to make the computer work quickly and accurately.

Today's article will focus on the most common reasons for this computer behavior. And a universal solution will be proposed that will help eliminate other problems along the way.

It's no secret that the vast majority of our readers use the operating system Windows system. It just so happened that we were accustomed to it in the mid-90s. Linux users, Unix, Mac OS criticize Microsoft for being “underdeveloped”, cumbersome, “insufficient”, “inconvenient”, etc. Some of the criticism is fair, of course. But it does not affect the final result - people continued to use Windows and will continue to do so. And if so, then when a problem arises you need to know how it can be solved without reinstalling windows and specialist help.

Where can the problem of computer freezing occur?

  • Windows XP,
  • Windows Vista,
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 10 (still less common than others and slightly different symptoms)

So, you worked and worked and suddenly...

The main symptoms of freezing and unstable operation of a computer or laptop

  1. The computer boots quickly, but freezes after a while;
  2. The computer boots slowly and slows down more and more during operation;
  3. “Hangs” for a long time at boot (immediately after switching on);
  4. “Hangs” for a long time when turned off;

It is likely that you have a special case and need help? Write a comment below in detail about what is wrong with you, and we will tell you what to do!

In some cases, errors occur when running programs related to memory; A short reboot helps.

There are two ways: the first way is to look for problems with the hardware, and the second way is to look for problems of the “software” type.

Note! There are many problems associated with a computer or laptop. And this article gives basic recommendations for software only. This is when the computer was working well, but suddenly began to freeze or slow down. And more likely problems in system unit no, namely the software is malfunctioning or viruses have appeared.

But more complex problems often occur. Namely:

Please note that SP1 (service pack) is required for installation. That's why I pointed out that it's not suitable for everyone. For those who don't have it installed, look below. After downloaded installation file Internet Explorer 11, it must be launched, the installation will take place automatically. The computer needs to be restarted.

Not a very fast way

Start - Control Panel

system and safety

Open Windows Update:

Mark as in the picture:

Then click “Check for updates”

The system will check for critical updates, notify you, and prompt you for installation.

You need to respond positively to the terms of the license agreement, install all critical “mandatory” updates, and driver updates for the motherboard. The process is not very fast and may take a couple of days. Accompanied by repeated reboots of the computer. As soon as we rebooted, we start searching for updates again. After critical updates are installed, after checking for updates again, the update service will display the following window:

So today we got acquainted with ways to solve the problem of computer freezing. But... If all of the above methods did not help resolve the problem, then, unfortunately, the equipment is probably faulty, and you need to start checking the hardware. This topic is vast and needs to be covered in another article coming soon. Also, if you are faced with the fact that Windows reports an update error, then this topic will also be discussed in detail in another article.

Good luck to you in solving problems.

That's all for today.

This is the best gratitude. Thank you!

When a computer freezes, it is sometimes quite difficult to find the cause. Resolving this kind of trouble may require quite a lot of time.

After the first such incident, you need to be wary and constantly monitor. It may be possible to establish some connection between some events and the “glitch”. Especially if the PC does not respond to anything.

Causes

There are a very large number of reasons why a PC periodically freezes. Often this is where the whole difficulty of finding the cause of a given event lies. Since there are many options why your home PC stopped working normally.

The most common malfunctions associated with this kind of trouble include:

Problem of the 21st century – viruses

Despite constantly updated anti-virus databases, as well as powerful firewalls of various kinds malware very often penetrate PCs equipped with the Windows operating system.

Because hackers and just hooligans are designing new Trojans and viruses every day. The presence of such applications in the operating system quite often leads to freezes and glitches.

CPU overheating

It often happens that the processor warms up to an abnormally high temperature. In this case, the PC usually reboots on its own - this is a kind of protection against overheating, it is configured in the BIOS. But it often happens that for some reason it is disabled and does not work. It is in this case that the PC freezes.

BIOS Settings

BIOS – simple tool for configuration, but you need to work with it extremely carefully. Entering incorrect parameters can lead to unpleasant consequences: equipment breakdown, glitches and a variety of other troubles.

That is why, if it is necessary to make any changes to it, it is advisable to first consult with a specialist. There is a high probability of PC failure.

Incompatibility of the controller with the type of hard drive

Many users assemble their computer themselves. And this is not always good. Since it is necessary to have certain knowledge about some components. Some of them may simply be incompatible with each other, and therefore there is a high probability of various types of problems occurring. Because of this, the car may simply “freeze.”

Windows Services

Operating system services greatly influence the process of PC operation. It is always necessary to carefully monitor which of them are currently active. Disabling any vital ones will result in the OS crashing. You should not take any rash actions with services running by default. This will lead to negative consequences.

Presence of uncontrolled processes

Often, all kinds of programs installed on the operating system launch various processes. Moreover, they begin to conduct some kind of independent activity and its products sometimes affect their work extremely negatively. This often happens during installation. Kaspersky antivirus or other similar applications. You need to monitor them as closely as possible.

Disk fragmentation

Hard drives that store large files that are subsequently deleted or copied or moved are usually highly fragmented. This leads to a significant drop in the machine’s performance, as well as constant freezing. Dealing with this phenomenon is quite simple; you only need to periodically diagnose the HDD.

Problems with OP

Random access memory (RAM) is one of the most important components personal computer. If any malfunctions associated with it occur, there is a high probability of freezing. This may be a consequence of incompatibility between the motherboard and the OP itself; this often happens. It also happens that the bar is simply not inserted tightly enough into the slot.

Small volume of drive C

Sometimes a lot of information is stored on a harddisk: users sometimes fill their HDD to capacity. But it should be remembered that normal PC operation is possible only if there is about 10% free space. Because otherwise, the data processing process may slow down or even stop altogether, and the machine will freeze.

Software glitch

The market for various programs is currently oversaturated with a variety of applications. They often contain various errors that lead to software failures. This is one of the most common reasons the occurrence of all kinds of PC “hangs”.

Scanning the system with an antivirus

Very often, the cause of glitches on a PC is viruses. But it is no less rare that malfunctions occur precisely because of antiviruses. Many such utilities are quite complex software package. This is what can cause the operating system to malfunction. Scanning often results in freezing.

Programs in Autorun

The Windows operating system has a special section that contains applications and utilities that run automatically. Sometimes programs located there cause errors in the operation of the PC. You should carefully monitor the items present there.

Video: 4 ways to fix freezing

A few recommendations on what to do to prevent your computer from freezing

The question is often asked: what should you do to keep your PC in good condition? You just need to follow some of the recommendations outlined below.

Restart your computer

Very often the problem can be fixed quite simply - you just need to restart your car. Moreover, this operation helps in most cases if there are no serious problems with the hardware.

You can use this method if:

Disable unnecessary programs

Often you can deal with the problem by simply turning off some unnecessary applications. This can be done through the Windows Task Manager.

This requires:

Afterwards it is advisable to perform a restart.

Check for viruses

Very often, for some reason, many users do not use antiviruses. Having these applications in most cases resolves problems with Restart.

The most functional and powerful today are the following software systems:

Moreover, the use of many antiviruses is free. Their operation and installation require a minimum amount of resources. Removing various types of malicious codes, viruses, and Trojans not only gets rid of glitches, but also speeds up its operation.

Clean off dust

Often the machine begins to freeze if the heating temperature of individual parts of it components reaches critical values. This phenomenon especially often occurs with the central processor.
