4. CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER CONTACTS

In this regard, the country is not much different from neighboring Latvia - two of the three main operators are the same: BITE and Tele2. The third is Telia, which appeared as an independent company not so long ago and was previously called Omnitel.

In terms of quality, it makes no sense to single out any one operator; they are approximately the same in terms of territory coverage. Lithuania is a small country and there are virtually no “white spots” on the reception map here.

Where is the best place to buy a SIM card?

SIM cards can be purchased in specialized stores of mobile communication companies, at the checkout counters of all supermarkets, at gas stations or at Lietuvos Spauda newsstands.

Considering that no documents are needed to connect to the network using a prepaid tariff, you can buy a SIM card yourself. If any questions arise during the registration process, it is better to contact the officials. Moreover, all SMS and system messages come in Lithuanian.

Cellular tariffs for tourists

Operators in the country do not have any special travel packages as such, but you can activate a special option and start calling Russia at a very reasonable price.

For example, the tariff from Tele2 can definitely be called the best in price. The “My Countries” service costs 1.45 euros and allows you to call Russia for 0.27 euros per minute.

Deserves attention Extra tariff from Telia - 5.5 euros for connection (of which 4 are returned to the account), 1 GB of mobile Internet is included. Calls to Russia will cost 0.6 euros (42 rubles).

Meanwhile, the price level of Russian operators, although slowly, is still beginning to be influenced by competition from foreign colleagues in the industry - we don’t want to lose the tourist segment. This is why roaming prices in the country today are not as high as they were several years ago - for example, one of the Russian operators offers a tariff of 19 rubles per minute for calls from Lithuania. What to choose - a local SIM card or roaming - is up to you.

How to call Lithuania from Russia

Nothing complicated: dial “8”, connect to the international communication line (dial 10 after the beep), indicate the country code (370), settlement and landline phone number. If you call from a mobile phone, the call will go directly through the national code +7.

Roaming services that allow you to save money

In Lithuania, two services from tele2 are available with which you can save:

  • Unlimited Internet abroad;
  • Conversations without boundaries;

Lithuania is one of the Baltic countries where not only tourism is well developed, but also cellular communications. Having arrived here, a tourist can purchase a local SIM card in large stores, in kiosks under the sign of Lietuvos spauda and at gas stations and, of course, in branded cellular communication stores. Here you can also buy a top-up voucher, indicating the name of the provider. It is worth noting that tourists have quite a wide choice. Lithuanian operators:

Bite GSM,
Omnitel,
Tele2,
Eurocom.

All of the above providers have prepaid rates that are suitable for tourists. Bite and Tele2 services are the most popular not only among guests, but also among Lithuanians. Thanks to high quality communications and good coverage. Omnitel and Eurocom, in general, are also not inferior in these characteristics. In this case, the tourist needs to focus on the price and volume of necessary services. The validity period of the starter package depends on the tariff plan that was selected. From three months to six months from the date of the last replenishment of the account. Moreover, after this period has expired, the subscriber can receive incoming calls and SMS for two to three months.

And although the conditions of Lithuanian operators are acceptable, for tourists, we would recommend connecting an inexpensive tariff for Lithuania, so that you can not only use Mobile Internet in Europe, but also make inexpensive calls from different countries.

Internet in Lithuania: choosing a tariff plan in Russia

You can also buy a SIM card in Lithuania, but it is much better when all important issues are settled before crossing your native border. Moreover, roaming in this case will be profitable. To travel to Lithuania, we suggest considering the following connection options:

The tariff option on the Globalsim Direct SIM card will be doubly profitable - the subscriber will be able to use inexpensive Internet. You can connect to the Baltic Internet package on the card - for only $5 per 1GB.

The Mundo tariff from Orange will allow you to forget about the problem of mobile Internet not only in Lithuania, but also in 40 European countries. Package prices:

Mundo 3 GB – 7 euros
Mundo 7 GB – 10 euros
Mundo 10 GB – 15 euros

On the website you can compare and choose a SIM card for your trip.

Lithuanian wireless networks

As practice shows, most tourists are more concerned about the cost of conversations with Russia than the cost of the Internet. After all Wi-Fi network here is one of the best in Europe (both in terms of coverage and data transfer speed). Free wireless network available in shopping centers, hotels, cafes and other popular in public places. In addition, anyone can connect to paid Wi-Fi Zebra (daily use - 87 cents). There are more than 4 thousand access points throughout the country.

However, if a tourist is going to conduct financial transactions via the Internet during a trip (paying for tickets, restaurants, etc.), then it will be more reliable to connect to the mobile Internet in Lithuania rather than use wireless networks. Since today cases of theft of personal data have become more frequent.
