The essence of the solution is to enter the program parameters through the file menu, select general settings and go to general configuration. Here you just need to check the box next to the line to ignore DDE requests. What it is is not so important in this case. The main thing is that this technique almost always works. But this is 99% of cases. For the 1%, when this method does not produce results, you will have to use other methods, which, by the way, under certain conditions are no less effective.

Deactivating Compatibility Mode

However, these steps may not be necessary. Perhaps the only problem is that the operating system is disabled automatic update, which, in addition to software modules and security system components, also provides for the installation of updates for office products.

Alternatively, you can go to the “Update Center”, set a manual search with the installation of updates for other Microsoft software products enabled, and integrate everything that is found into the system.

What's the result?

Drawing conclusions from all of the above, it can be noted that in most cases the technique of disabling DDE requests helps. True, other options cannot be ruled out either. Here we deliberately did not consider situations related to the penetration of various types of viruses into the system, which are also sometimes capable of blocking operation or even launching office programs, since security issues should be a priority for any user.
